I just realized it's been over a month since I've posted anything on here. I really am the worst with sticking to things and following through. Which is why I always fail at dieting. In the beginning I'm always so gung ho, ready to dive in head first and "change my life" and become a better version of myself. But somewhere along the way I always lose my motivation and end up slinking back into my old habits.
I think one of the reasons it's so hard for me to stick to eating healthy is because I feel like I'm CONSTANTLY cooking in order to eat right. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE cooking, and at first it's fun; the challenge of coming up with new and exciting recipes that are tasty and good for me. But after a while it just becomes more of a hassle.
So, in order to attempt to remedy this little problem of mine, I've come up with a new game plan! My crock pot is about to become my best friend. Because I think it will be much easier for me to stick with eating right if I can just throw some ingredients in my crock pot, go about my business for a few hours and voila! Healthy meal with minimal work. I'm hoping that this new strategy will work better for me than the things I've tried in the past. And of course I'll be sharing all of my yummy/healthy crock pot recipes with you!
Also, I've decided to stop tracking things like calories and points (weight watchers), because giving myself a number limit on how much I can have per day always makes me feel so restricted and I'm almost always left feeling hungry when I reach my quota. Instead, I'll just keep track of WHAT I eat and when. That way I can see my eating patterns and figure out which foods affect me positively and help me lose the most weight.
I'm looking forward to this new journey and I really hope to get a positive outcome. I'll be sure to post regularly on my progress and recipes, and hopefully I'll inspire someone else out there who's struggling just like me! xoxo, Jessica.
